2 Corinthians 8:9
Mary and Joseph are vulnerable, relying on others' help. Without shelter, Mary might have to give birth on the streets. Their journey to Bethlehem had obstacles. Despite reaching Bethlehem, tension rose. Doors were shut, even by Joseph's family. From the start, Jesus identified with the oppressed. In human form, He sought no worldly comforts, understanding the struggles of the lonely and homeless. For Mary and Joseph, one act of kindness ushered in the Son of God. Despite having no room, the innkeeper provided a place for the Savior. Despite challenges, God's hand guided their journey. The humble stable became a holy place where Jesus was born. Christmas reminds us why Jesus came humbly — to offer hope in any circumstance.
